Bangladesh Cash Working Group

The Bangladesh Cash Working Group (CWG) seeks to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of CTPs across sectors and clusters in disaster preparedness and response. Since its launch in March 2014, it has successfully coordinated the emergency CTPs by harmonising grant size and location and introduced the structural market price monitoring practice in union level. With growing interests in quality CTPs, currently more than 30 member organizations including private sector and government collaborate to set the course for the future of CTPs that save lives and empower the people.

Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance Workshop in Bangladesh, 4 December 2016

The Bangladesh Cash Working Group (CWG) conducted a National level Workshop on "Multi-purpose Cash Assistance" in Bangladesh on 4th December 2016 in collaboration with the Government and OCHA with the views to: 1. agree on a standard multi-purpose cash assistance package as well as on the required coordination and reporting arrangements; 2. To agree on the follow-up steps for preparedness and implementation. Government, HCTT members, UN Organisations, Cluster Leads, INGOs/NGOs representatives, Donors, IFRC and Financial Service Providers attended the workshop where the Honourable Secretary for the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) presented as the "Chief Guest". A total of about 70 participants attended the event.

Cash Transfer Programme Level 2 Training Final Workshop Report

The Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) Level 2 Training was conducted on 29th November – 3rd December 2015 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The objectives of workshop were to train multiple agencies and partners, strengthen existing capacity of practitioners, share best practice through active learning and increase capacity of Bangladesh national and their organisations in technical design and implementation of CTP.
