CaLP-Certified Trainers

CaLP would like to introduce a cohort of CaLP-certified trainers to support the delivery of CaLP-accredited courses globally. Should you be looking to hold a CaLP course within your own organisation, or working to plan an interagency course, you will find below a list of CaLP-certified trainers for you to contact (note that CaLP authorises only non-commercial delivery of courses unless under prior written agreements, as with our Training Partner Organisations). These individuals have gone through a training process and are qualified to deliver CaLP-accredited courses in the training stated next to their name.

This group consists of skilled and experienced course leaders and workshop facilitators that have demonstrated a commitment to humanitarian values, effective humanitarian response and supporting individuals and organisations to build capacity to improve actions.

CaLP aims to ensure that this group offers a range of experience and familiarity with countries and regions around the world, and is able to deliver training in various languages. Specifically, we seek to ensure that CaLP-certified trainers:

  - combine knowledge and experience in both cash and voucher assistance and training delivery;

  - appreciate and apply concepts and strategies to promote adult learning;

  - use a facilitation style marked by promotion of participation, valuing of diversity, searching of a range of experiences, and establishment of a dynamic setting;

  - endeavour at all times to support participants to achieve course learning outcomes;

  - seek to improve their own training delivery, workshop management and facilitation skills (via self-assessment, evaluation and peer support);

  - offer a range of experience in and familiarity with countries and regions around the world;

  - establish a vibrant and conducive learning environment, both by use of visual materials and by creating a collegial atmosphere.

CaLP encourages organisations to reach out to certified trainers to determine if one may fit your training needs. You will find the trainers below organised by the course they are certified to deliver. Please continue to check this list as names will to be added in the future and also note that certification is for a period of three years at which point trainers will need to attend a refresher course in order to stay certified.

Questions and answers about CaLP-certified trainers:

1. Can CaLP-certified trainers adapt the materials to meet the requirements of our organisation?

We encourage contextualisation of the course, any other changes to the materials are permitted as long as the learning objectives and outcomes for every session are fully met. If that is not the case, then the course cannot be classified as CaLP-accredited.

2. Can CaLP-certified trainers certify our staff?

No, whilst you may put forward a member of staff to co-facilitate on the training, that staff member must go through a Training of Trainer process, at the end of which CaLP holds the right to certify that person.

3. Is the trainer certified to deliver any and all CaLP courses?

No, trainers go through a training process for specific courses. Please view the table to see which course the training as certified to deliver.

4. Why is CaLP doing this, does this mean that they will no longer be running CaLP trainings?

CaLP will continue delivering courses within regions where we have demand and funding. However, we also acknowledge that we are unable to meet the huge demand with our resources alone, therefore, by providing this list of Certified trainers, we are supporting organisations’ ability to meet their own needs.
