CaLP Training of Trainers (TOT) for Core CVA Skills for Programme Staff in Nairobi, Kenya

Aim

To add to a cohort of trainers with the competence and confidence to deliver CaLP capacity building courses, namely the Core CVA Skills for Programme Staff course

Course description

The TOT course will support participants to:

▪ develop a deep understanding of and the ability to successfully delivery the Core CVA skills for Programme Staff course

▪ foster confidence and skill to prepare and deliver CaLP workshops, using engaging and appropriate methods

▪ contribute to the establishment a cadre of a group of trainers able to support the delivery CaLP’s capacity building courses

Course overview

By working collaboratively and individually in a seminar and workshop setting approach, this training of trainers activity will result in a cohort of trainers with the competence and confidence to deliver the CaLP Core CVA Skills for Programme Staff course. The 5-day TOT will use an active, participatory approach, whereby everyone offers contributions to the proceedings and accepts responsibility for his/her own learning. The workshop will use a mix of plenary presentations and discussions, small group work, practice facilitation, and individual preparation and planning. 

Participant Selection

Applications will be reviewed and selection will consider:
· Receptive, dynamic individual interested in learning and sharing knowledge during and after the TOT
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Prior experience implementing a cash or voucher program necessary
· Prior experience facilitating training workshops highly preferred
· Prior experience implementing an in-kind program preferred
· Demonstration of organisation's/supervisor's support for individual's participation required
· Statement of intent (or opportunity) to deliver the course in-house

Training Fees

The course participation is free and lunch time meals are provided. However, participants' will be responsible for all other associated costs such as travel, evening meals and accommodation.
