Afghanistan Cash Working Group

Initially established as the Cash/Voucher Based Interventions Working Group (CBVI-WG) under the Food Security Cluster (FSC) at the end of 2012, the Afghanistan Cash Voucher Working Group has evolved considerably since April 2014, strategically engaging actors in other sectors and clusters. The objective of the group is to develop a network and knowledge sharing platform on Cash Transfer Programming (CTP), as well as to strengthen and broaden the CTP community of practice across the country. Participants come from various agencies that are interested in CTP including representatives from the Afghanistan government and the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, NGOs and UN agencies. The group is currently co-chaired by the Norwegian Refugee Council, a CaLP Steering Committee member, and Concern Worldwide with support from UN OCHA. Depending on the needs of the local Community of Practice, CWG meetings are held monthly or bi-monthly.
