Social Protection and linkages with Humanitarian CVA: MENA case studies and crib sheet

SUBJECT : Creating MENA crib sheet and case studies for CaLP’s capacity building on linking social protection and humanitarian cash and voucher assistance

Objectives 

Ensure CaLP trainers and course participants in MENA have access to the most significant and relevant examples from their region on linking SP and Humanitarian CVA; these should include programming, pilot projects, policy and coordination initiatives and major analytical studies conducted at national level for MENA countries.

Tasks

Identify and list key resources related to linking social protection and humanitarian cash and voucher assistance in MENA The focus should be on the last 5 years but important and older examples should also be included if missing. The format of the crib sheet will build on previous examples.  Arabic language examples should be included where possible.
Create a short (5-10 page) document (the crib sheet) on programmes, pilot projects, important meetings or events and policy and coordination initiatives linking social protection and humanitarian cash and voucher assistance in these regions. The items on the crib sheet should be linked to the current sections of the CaLP Social Protection training module and should provide a range of examples in terms of approach to linkages.
Create in depth country case studies for Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen on attempts to link humanitarian CVA and social protection linkages and the different approaches that have been taken.

Outputs

  1. Crib sheet (5-10 pages) for the MENA region of CaLP region
  2. In depth country case studies for Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen on attempts to link humanitarian CVA and social protection linkages
  3. Powerpoint and presentation to CaLP team.
  4. Participation in a Webinar.
