As a learning partnership, the CaLP aims to bring together the diverse knowledge and experience in cash transfer programmes from around the world in both policy and practice. We do this globally and locally through several channels:
In 2011, the CaLP has deployed Cash Focal Points in Pakistan, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, Kenya and the Horn of Africa, Niger and the Ivory Coast. The Cash Focal Points are there to facilitate and support cash transfer programming efforts, foster learning and best practices, and coordinate response mechanisms. In each focus country, the Cash Focal Points work to enable and support a country level community of practice around the appropriate use of cash and vouchers at the country level.
The CaLP website and online discussion forum (D-group) are currently the only platforms devoted to the use of cash and vouchers in humanitarian emergencies. Our online library has a growing collection of guidelines, tools, policy and technical documents focusing entirely on cash transfer programming.
The CaLP also supports online platforms for cash transfer technical working groups in emergencies around the world, including Kenya, Niger and Somalia.
Since 2010, CaLP has organized Global Learning Events around the world, which are opportunities for humanitarian practitioners and decision-makers to come together and learn from the latest evidence, share experiences, and discuss common problems and solutions.
CaLP has also actively participated in a number of other global conferences and initiatives. See the events calendar
