CaLP Training

In 2011, the CaLP delivered 35 training courses to more than 800 humanitarian practitioners around the world.

The CaLP provides two levels of training to accommodate different levels of experience with cash and voucher programming.  The CaLP also delivers half-day or one-day awareness sessions on a case-by-case basis. Descriptions of the CaLP training modules are provided below.

CaLP is currently undergoing a transition and has no scheduled courses yet for 2012.  To recieve notifications of the forthcoming training calendar, enter your email address in the box to the right to recieve the CaLP's monthly newsletter.

E-learning

The IFRC, in partnership with CaLP, produced an e-learning module: Introduction to Cash Transfer Programming in Emergencies.  The e-learning module is a basic overview and can be found on the IFRC's learning platform, or accessed through the CaLP's e-learning platform.

About CaLP Training

CaLP Level 1 training: Cash Transfer Programming in Humanitarian Response

This 3-day course is aimed at humanitarian programme staff, managers and support teams, and provides a general introduction to cash transfer programming (CTP) as a tool in emergency response.

Designed for humanitarian practitioners with limited or no experience of CTP, the course covers issues around assessment and analysis of suitability for CTP, gives participants practice at planning, designing and monitoring a cash transfer project, and addresses common fears and concerns associated with the use of cash in emergencies.

CaLP Level 2 training

The CaLP Level II training is a 4-day training package that aims at taking humanitarian practitioners and support staff with cash experience to the next level in coordinating, planning and implementing cash transfer programming.

Covering a broad cross-section of modalities and looking at the lessons learned and innovations from recent cash-based disaster response programmes in Haiti, Pakistan, Niger and Sri Lanka, the CaLP level II is an essential practical toolkit for anyone currently implementing cash-based humanitarian response.
